Since that time he founded both a Salem MA and Boston University training class as well as WildFire (the nation’s largest spinning arts training retreat). He has 7 years of dance training (at a very early age) and 12 years of martial arts training where he founded and managed a school for 2.5 years. Chad has performed at individual events, small group productions, and large gatherings (ex. 06 Burning Man Conclave). Chad has been featured in the Boston Globe, local college publications, and on local access television. He is based in Boston and working on creating a modern poi training/teaching system, managing WildFire, helping others unlock their creative selves, and looking for that perfect post MBA job.
Grisha
Grisha
has been performing with fire since 2001. His firespinning is heavily influenced
by his training in various martial arts, particularly Filipino and other Southeast
Asian styles. In performance, Grisha's favorite implements are a combination
of short torches and poi, which allow rapid transitions between the fluid movements
of poi and the more aggressive and combat-like forms made possible by wielding
torches as if they were weapons. He also performs with long staff, poi, fire
dart, and fire swords, and loves to punctuate his routines with firebreathing.
Grisha's years of experience as a martial arts instructor make him a highly
effective teacher of firespinning skills at both beginning and advanced levels.
Dominique
Dominique has been a professional fire performer in the Boston area for over 5 years. She is
one of the longest, continuously performing acts of this kind in the northeast. Specializing
in hula hoop and poi spinning, she incorporates her extensive dance background
into each act, delivering a unique spectacle.
She is incredibly multitalented and will learn and master any new skill put in front of her. Dominique has been featured three times on the worldwide fire spinning compilation
Circles of Light, and is an organizer for Wildfire, a bi-annual performers'
training camp held in Connecticut. She can be found entertaining people of all ages throughout the
northeast at events of all kinds.
Maria
Maria will be leaving shortly for the peace corps. We will miss her!
